- Websites or social media accounts that offer “too good to be true” deals on diabetic supplies, but then either fail to deliver the products or send low-quality or counterfeit items
- Telemarketers who claim to be working with a patient’s insurance company or healthcare provider, and try to sell them overpriced or unnecessary diabetic supplies
To avoid falling victim to these scams, patients should be cautious when giving out personal or financial information and should only purchase diabetic supplies from reputable sources. It’s also a good idea to check with a healthcare provider or pharmacist before purchasing any new supplies to ensure that they are appropriate for the patient’s needs.
