Professional areas of interest
I practice across the entire scope of Family Medicine, but have a special interest is sports medicine, musculoskeletal care, cholesterol disorders, diabetes, hypertension, and general pediatrics.

Personal Information

I grew up in rural northeast Iowa on a dairy farm as the 7th of nine children.  My wife Kelli and I were blessed with identical twin girls, Avery and Hailey, in October 2009.  My interests outside of medicine focus primarily on spending time with my family.  In addition to my twin girls, I have 20 nieces and nephews and cherish the opportunity to spend time with the rest of my family when time permits.  I am passionate about the University of Iowa athletics (Go Hawks!) and am a fan of most collegiate and professional sports.  I enjoy getting outdoors playing recreational sports whenever possible and try to get out to the mountains for a ski trip each winter.

Education:
Undergraduate - Bachelor of Science - Loras College, Dubuque, IA - 1994.
Medical Education - University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City - 1998.
Residency - Family Medicine - Baptist Medical Center/Goppert Family Care Center, Kansas City - 2001.
