New “Healthier You” Classes 2018

Attend one or more of our FREE classes/programs offered throughout the year.  All classes are held on-site at Clay Platte Family Medicine Clinic.  The instructors are our Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator Mary Jo Mason, RD, CDE and Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Coach Megan Nelson.  Call scheduling to register (816) 842-4440.

Meal Planning for Diabetes

Meal planning for diabetes can be confusing and overwhelming. Join in on this discussion-based class to learn how to balance your plate, decipher nutrition labels, navigate the menu while eating out, and create reasonable, simple changes towards better blood sugar control.

Boost Your Metabolism

There are many factors that can affect how well your metabolism is working. The good news is, if you’ve inherited or developed a slow metabolism, you’re not stuck with it. There are many ways to take control of your metabolism. This seminar will help you learn about calorie recommendations, calorie quality and timing, nutrient deficiency, cardio and strength training benefits, and five steps to metabolic success.
